Here are a few books of interest to Flem fans. If you
have any suggested additions to this list, please email

Cricketing Safari
By Stephen Fleming and Nathan Astle
This is Flem and Nathe's tour diaries from the rather
mixed 2000 tour of Africa. I have written a brief review
of this book.
Stephen Fleming - Balance of Power
By Richard Boock
The official biography, written in close consultation
with Fleming. I have written a brief review
of this book.
New Zealand Test Cricket Captains
By Matthew Appleby
This book contains chapters on each of New Zealand's
25 Test captains and comprehensive statistics. The chapter
on Fleming, which covers his captaincy career, background
and style, is the most extensive and best-researched,
and was written in close consultation with Fleming,
who also wrote a preface to the book. The chapters on
some of the lesser captains, however, are more patchy
and contain occasional errors.
New Zealand Cricket Almanack 2003
Edited by Francis Payne and Ian Smith
The 2003 edition of New Zealand's Wisden equivalent
features Stephen Fleming, for the second time, as one
of its two Players of the Year. Fleming's form - including
his World Cup century against South Africa and his double
century in Sri Lanka - has been the centrepiece of the
Black Caps' performances this year, all of which are
recorded in detail in the Almanack.
Biographies:
Some of Fleming's team-mates have produced biographies
which, naturally, refer to their captain. These include
Chris Cairns by Hamish McDouall, Chris Harris'
The Chris Harris Story, Gavin Larsen's Grand
Larseny and Adam Parore's The Wicked Keeper
(by Angus Gilles). From a slightly earlier period, there
are books by Glenn Turner (sometime coach), Danny Morrison
and Ken Rutherford...
